BBC Studios has announced Doctor Who: The Satan Pit Extended Cut for a one-night-only cinema event on Monday, 23 November 2026 — Doctor Who Day.
David Tennant and Billie Piper’s Doctor Who two-parter returns as a new movie-length cut featuring deleted and never-before-seen extended footage, screening in more than 1,000 cinemas across six countries.
The screening will take place in participating cinemas across the UK, Ireland, United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Tickets go on sale at 9:00am local time on 25 September 2026.
The new cinema presentation combines the 2006 episodes The Impossible Planet and The Satan Pit into a single feature-length cut, incorporating deleted material previously released on DVD alongside never-before-seen extended footage. The event will also include bonus material and an exclusive interview with director and producer James Strong.
Celebrating 20 years of the Tenth Doctor and Rose
The original episodes were broadcast on 3 and 10 June 2006, making this a 20th-anniversary celebration of this Tenth Doctor and Rose adventure.
