Trailer Drop · 18 October 2026
MUBI has released a new trailer for Rose of Nevada, the eerie time-slip mystery from Cornish filmmaker Mark Jenkin, as the film arrives on the streamer. George MacKay and Callum Turner play two men who join the crew of a fishing boat that mysteriously returns to harbour 30 years after it was lost at sea, only to come home and find the village greeting them as the original crew. The film began streaming exclusively on MUBI in the US and Canada on Friday 16 October 2026.

What the Trailer Shows
The trailer opens on a forgotten Cornish fishing village and the Rose of Nevada, a boat that vanished with all hands three decades ago and has now drifted back into the old harbour. For those who remember, its return is a sign: if the boat goes back out to sea, perhaps the village’s luck will turn.
Young father Nick (MacKay) and enigmatic newcomer Liam (Turner) sign on with captain Murgey and head out. The haul is good, but when they return something is badly wrong. They have slipped back in time, and the villagers treat them as the long-lost crew. The trailer leans into that unsettling, dreamlike premise, mixing weather-beaten seascapes and close, haunted faces with the question of whether the two men can ever get back to the lives they left.
Jenkin wrote, edited, composed the score for and directed the film, continuing the distinctive handmade style of his BAFTA-winning debut Bait and the folk horror Enys Men. The cast also includes Francis Magee, Edward Rowe, Rosalind Eleazar and Mary Woodvine. Rose of Nevada premiered at the 2025 Venice International Film Festival and screened at Toronto before its US cinema release earlier this year. MacKay, recently seen in Sense and Sensibility (2026), leads a film that will appeal to fans of the slow-burn folk horror we flagged in our Werwulf preview.
