Trailer Drop · 17 October 2026
Sony Pictures has released a new English-language trailer for Ramayana: Rise of a Legend, producer Namit Malhotra’s big-screen telling of the ancient Indian epic. Nitesh Tiwari directs, Ranbir Kapoor plays Rama opposite Yash as Ravana, with Sai Pallavi, and the film opens in UK cinemas on Thursday 5 November.

Synopsis
“In an age of gods and kings, the fate of worlds hangs in the balance.” Rama, a prince bound by duty, sacrifice and righteousness, must confront Ravana, an immortal ruler driven by pride and vengeance and powerful enough to shatter the cosmos. Sony describes a story of a prince, a vengeful king and the prophecy that binds their fates together.
The new trailer introduces Rama as humanity’s hope: not a god, but a man. Behind the camera, the film pairs a score from Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman with action design by Guy Norris and Terry Notary and visual effects led by Dan Glass. This is part one of a two-film adaptation, and the second instalment is planned for Diwali 2027.
