Netflix has released the official trailer for You, Me, Us (Noi, un po’ meglio), the new romantic comedy from Italian director Daniele Luchetti. Elio Germano and Maria Chiara Giannetta play Simone and Lucia, a couple who agree on almost nothing until the question of adopting a child puts their relationship to its biggest test. The film screens at the Rome Film Fest ahead of its release on Netflix in the UK and worldwide from Thursday 29 October 2026.
What the Trailer Shows
Simone and Lucia could not be more different. He is solid, steady and family-minded; she is a free spirit who has always resisted the idea of motherhood. What keeps them together is a constant, often hilarious negotiation over everything, and the trailer leans into that push and pull before turning to the moment the couple decide to pursue adoption together.
Netflix’s synopsis calls the film a heartfelt dramedy about love, identity and becoming a little better version of yourself, and the trailer balances bickering and comedy with quieter scenes as the adoption process brings each partner’s deepest fears and desires to the surface. The question it leaves hanging is whether two people this different can stay true to themselves and still build a family.
Luchetti, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Enrico Audenino and Davide Lantieri, reunites with Germano 16 years after their drama La nostra vita (Our Life), which won Germano the Best Actor prize at Cannes in 2010. Giannetta is best known to Italian audiences as the blind police consultant in the RAI series Blanca. The cast also includes Anna Bonaiuto, Lidia Vitale, Caterina Guzzanti, Ilaria Spada, Dajana Roncione and Filippo Nigro. The film is produced by Andrea Occhipinti for the Italian company Lucky Red, with Netflix holding the exclusive release.
