Trailer Drop · New Trailer · 28 October 2026
This time the game comes to us. Sony Pictures has released a new trailer for Jumanji: Open World, which reunites Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan as the cursed game breaks free of its console and unleashes its chaos into the real world. The film opens in UK cinemas on 23 December.
Jumanji Breaks Out of the Console
Sony describes the new instalment as a hilarious next chapter in the global action-adventure franchise. Our heroes have escaped the ever-changing jungles of Jumanji before, but now the jungle is not where the danger lives: the game is loose in our world.
Jake Kasdan, who directed Welcome to the Jungle and The Next Level, returns to direct from a script he wrote with Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg, based on Chris Van Allsburg’s book. Alex Wolff, Morgan Turner, Ser’Darius Blain and Madison Iseman are back too, with Nick Jonas and Danny DeVito.
We first flagged the film’s poster in our BBC Three to Go Off Air Again — plus This City Is Ours and More round-up. This trailer is the clearest look yet at how the series plans to play its real-world twist.
