Trailer Drop · Trailer 2 · 28 October 2026
National Geographic’s second trailer for Everest: The Other Side is a one-minute rush of ice, snow and critics’ praise, calling the film “nail-biting”, “thrilling” and “exhilarating”. The new documentary from Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin, the Oscar-winning directors of Free Solo, opens in UK cinemas and IMAX this Friday, 30 October.
A Dream to Ski Everest’s North Face
Elite ski mountaineers Jim Morrison and Hilaree Nelson shared an audacious dream: to climb Everest’s direct North Face and ski down it, a route no one had ever completed. Vasarhelyi and Chin follow an expedition shaped by ambition, love and loss, and by extraordinary risk.
Where the first trailer, covered in our Trailer Drop — Everest: The Other Side (2026): Official Trailer 1, set out the story, this shorter cut leans on the scale of the mountain and on reaction from the film’s festival run, which took in Venice, Telluride and Toronto.
The film comes from National Geographic Documentary Films and Little Monster Films, and Walt Disney Studios releases it in the UK. For everything else arriving in cinemas, see our UK Release Calendar: New Films and Streaming Releases.
