Trailer Drop · 80th Anniversary Re-Release Trailer · 3 November 2026
George Bailey is coming back to the big screen. Paramount Pictures UK has released the trailer for the 80th anniversary re-release of Frank Capra’s It’s a Wonderful Life, which returns to UK cinemas in 4K on Friday 11 December 2026 for two weeks only.
Bedford Falls in 4K
The 1946 classic stars James Stewart as George Bailey, a small-town man whose dreams keep giving way to duty. On a desperate Christmas Eve, an angel, Clarence (Henry Travers), shows him what Bedford Falls would have looked like if he had never been born. Donna Reed plays Mary, with Lionel Barrymore as the miserly Mr Potter and Thomas Mitchell as Uncle Billy.
Paramount is presenting the restoration in 4K, and the engagement runs for two weeks from 11 December, so it will be playing through the run-up to Christmas. The film is rated U and runs 2 hours 10 minutes.
It is the latest anniversary reissue heading into UK cinemas this season, following The Man Who Fell to Earth. For the TV side of the festive season, see Christmas TV 2026: Ludwig, Amandaland and Every UK Special So Far.
