Trailer Drop · Teaser Trailer · 26 October 2026
Sky has released the first teaser for The Trip to the Northern Lights, the fifth series of the comedy that has sent Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon round restaurants in England and Europe since 2010. More than five years after The Trip to Greece, the pair are heading north to Scandinavia. All six episodes come to Sky and NOW in the UK and Ireland in December. The exact date has not been announced yet.

Fine Food, Old Rivalries and a Glimpse of the Aurora
The 35-second teaser is a short first taste of the new run, which Sky describes as a “gloriously delicious journey” through Northern Europe in search of fine food, wry conversation and a glimpse of the elusive Northern Lights.
As before, Coogan and Brydon play heightened versions of themselves. Sky’s synopsis has them taking in everything from sculptural Swedish hotels to remote Norwegian fishing huts, squabbling all the way, with talk of podcasts, BAFTA one-upmanship, Bond, Bergman and whether either of them will ever retire.
Michael Winterbottom, who has directed every series since the first in 2010, is back behind the camera. The show is made by Revolution Films, Baby Cow Productions and Small Man in association with Sky Studios. The original series started on BBC Two before The Trip to Italy (2014), The Trip to Spain (2017) and The Trip to Greece (2020) followed.
Fans who cannot wait until December can catch the first two episodes early: Picturehouse cinemas are holding a preview screening with a Q&A on Monday 30 November, with tickets on sale from Thursday 29 October.
