Trailer Drop · New Trailer · 27 October 2026
Jim Caviezel goes to war on his own doorstep in the new trailer for Ghost Soldier, Sony Pictures’ action thriller about a quiet loner who turns out to be the most dangerous man in town. The film is rated 15 and opens only in UK cinemas on Friday 27 November, just over two weeks after its US release on Veterans Day.

A One-Man War They Can’t Win
Caviezel plays Henry “Fitz” Fitzgerald, a solitary man with a mysterious past who lives quietly off the grid in his hometown. When a powerful foreign corporation moves in, determined to seize his land and his neighbours’ for a massive payday, Fitz finally shows his hand. He is a former Special Forces soldier and advanced weapons developer, and he has an arsenal nobody has ever seen.
The trailer leans hard into that reveal. It opens on small-town calm, then swaps it for gadgets, gunfire and a man with an unbending code of justice. Sony’s own tagline puts it bluntly: he’s not a threat, he’s a guarantee.
William Eubank, who made the deep-sea thriller Underwater, directs from a script by Chris Papasadero. Olivia Thirlby, Beau Knapp, Garret Dillahunt and Shea Whigham co-star, and David Zelon and William Sherak produce. Caviezel is also an executive producer, alongside James Vanderbilt and others. It is a very different role from the one he is best known for, and you can read more about that in our piece on why he isn’t returning as Jesus in The Resurrection of the Christ.
