Trailer Drop · Official Trailer · 29 October 2026
Jim Bakker, Jerry Falwell and Jimmy Swaggart built television empires in God’s name, then went to war with each other. Netflix has released the official trailer for Primetime Preacher$, Oscar nominee Joe Berlinger’s documentary about the golden age of televangelism, and it arrives on Netflix on 20 November.
A Holy War on Primetime TV
In the 1980s the three preachers used primetime television to reach millions, and in doing so turned evangelical Christianity from a largely nonpartisan movement into a powerful force in American politics. Then a very public sex scandal set them against one another.
Berlinger, the director of Paradise Lost and Metallica: Some Kind of Monster, promises a look at the greed, ego and rivalry behind the pulpit; Jason Bateman is among the producers.
