Cunk on Cinema Trailer: Philomena Cunk Baffles Michael Bay

Trailer Drop · Official Trailer · 29 October 2026

Philomena Cunk has turned her attention to the movies. Netflix has released the official trailer for Cunk on Cinema, Charlie Brooker’s new six-part mockumentary starring Diane Morgan, and it finds Michael Bay and Benedict Cumberbatch among the experts left baffled by her questions. It is a BBC production, streaming on BBC iPlayer in the UK from 12 November, while Netflix streams it outside the UK and Ireland from 15 November.

Cunk Takes On the Movies

After Cunk on Britain, Cunk on Earth and Cunk on Life, Morgan’s famously ill-informed presenter now charts the history of cinema, from the invention of the camera and the New Wave filmmakers of the 1960s to CGI and what AI might mean for film, all from a lumpy seat with stale popcorn.

The trailer’s best moments come from the interviews: Bay calls her questions “odd”, and Cumberbatch looks lost as Cunk asks how actors get inside a character. Al Campbell directs for Pacesetter Productions. More streaming picks are in our Weekly Streaming Highlights: 25 October 2026 – 31 October 2026.
