Trailer Drop · Official Trailer · 8 November 2026
Natalie Portman plays a Miami gallerist clinging to elite society after a messy separation, until an accidental corpse becomes the centrepiece of her Art Basel debut. Roadside Attractions and Vertical have released the official trailer for Cathy Yan’s dark comedy The Gallerist, which opens in US cinemas on Friday 4 December 2026. UK date not yet confirmed.
When the Centrepiece Was Never Meant to Be Art
Portman stars as Polina Polinski, an ambitious gallery owner facing mounting financial hardship and desperate to prove herself. Jenna Ortega plays Kiki. The official cast also includes Sterling K. Brown, Daniel Brühl, Charli XCX, Zach Galifianakis, Da’Vine Joy Randolph and Catherine Zeta-Jones. Set against the glitter of Art Basel Miami, the story follows an impromptu act of survival that spirals into a game of deception as influencers and police close in.
Yan, who made Birds of Prey, directs and co-writes with James Pedersen. Producers include Sophie Mas, Ash Sarohia, Natalie Portman, Jonathan King, Tom McCarthy, Rae Baron and Zola Elgart Glassman, with MRC behind the film.
