Trailer Drop · Official Trailer · 29 October 2026
For twenty days in 1982 the Netherlands held its breath. Netflix has released the official trailer for Toos: The Van der Valk Kidnapping, a Dutch drama series inspired by the abduction of Toos van der Valk, the matriarch of the country’s biggest hotel family. Lies Visschedijk and Frank Lammers star, and the series arrives on Netflix on 26 November, 44 years to the day since the kidnapping.

Twenty Days to Save Toos
Toos and her husband Gerrit ran the largest hotel empire in the Netherlands until 26 November 1982, when she was taken for ransom. Netflix’s series follows the family as police officer Cor Mulder moves into their hotel undercover as ‘nephew Cor’, trying to find the kidnappers while the family buckles under the pressure and Toos fights to stay alive.
Gijs Blom, Joy Verberk, Richelle Plantinga, Jim Deddes and Juda Goslinga co-star. Inti Calfat and Dirk Verheye direct from scripts by Carl Joos and Maaik Krijgsman, with Submarine producing.
