Trailer Drop · Official Trailer · 28 October 2026
A boy’s alien best friend vanishes without a goodbye, then comes back twenty years later with a world-changing secret in Allen, the first locally produced live-action feature from Ludo Studio, the Brisbane company behind Bluey. Netflix has released the official trailer, and the Queensland-set sci-fi drama premieres worldwide, including the UK, on 12 November.
An Old Friend Comes Back Down to Earth
As a boy in a Queensland coastal town, Petey had a best friend he never got over: an alien named Allen, who disappeared without saying goodbye. Twenty years later Allen is back, but the reunion comes with a secret big enough to change the world, and Petey will finally have to grow up if he is going to help save it.
The trailer leans into warm, sun-bleached nostalgia before hinting at something bigger and stranger. T.J. Power plays the adult Petey, with Charlotte Nicdao, Josh Helman, Emily Barclay and Benedict Hardie in the cast and Edward A. O’Sullivan as the younger Petey.
Allen was created by Daley Pearson, who co-directs with Jeffrey Walker (Apple Cider Vinegar) and co-wrote the script with Sophie Miller. It was shot around Brisbane and the Gold Coast. For more big-screen sci-fi, catch up with the Dune: Part Three Final Trailer: Paul Atreides Faces the End.
