Trailer Drop · Official Trailer · 27 October 2026
Clio Barnard, the director of Ali & Ava and The Arbor, returns with I See Buildings Fall Like Lightning, a Birmingham-set drama about five childhood friends turning 30. Curzon’s official UK and Ireland trailer is out, and the film is rated 15 and opens in UK and Irish cinemas on Friday 4 December 2026.
Five Friends, Five Lives
Patrick, Shiv, Rian, Oli and Conor grew up together on the same estate. Now they are 30, and their dreams have not worked out the way they imagined. Patrick (Anthony Boyle) and Shiv (Lola Petticrew) are still in love, until an old secret opens new wounds. Oli (Jay Lycurgo), always the life and soul, is partying too hard. Conor (Daryl McCormack) has a baby on the way and a business plan that could change everything, while Rian (Joe Cole) has moved to London, made money and found himself lonely and cut off from home.
Enda Walsh adapts Keiran Goddard’s novel, and the trailer leans into the humour, loyalty and pressure that hold the group together. It is a BBC Film and BFI presentation of a Moonspun Films production, with Millie Brady, Lucie Shorthouse and James Eeles also in the cast.
