Trailer Drop · Official Trailer · 5 November 2026
A mutilated body in Tokyo, another in Seoul, and two detectives who do not want to work together. Netflix has released the main trailer for The Blue Road, its Korean-Japanese crime thriller series starring Son Suk-ku and Eita Nagayama. All eight episodes arrive on Netflix worldwide, including the UK, on Friday 20 November 2026.

Murders Across Two Countries
Son Suk-ku, of D.P. and Big Bet, plays Kim Seok, a detective with the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency. Eita Nagayama, from Hirokazu Kore-eda’s Monster, plays Inose of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department. The trailer opens with a young girl being abducted, before a body is found with its limbs contorted. Kim offers to team up, and Inose turns him down: catching the killer is all he cares about.
Netflix says the story is set in 2002, as the Korea-Japan World Cup sweeps the country. Kim Shin-rok plays Lee Yun-ok, a Zainichi Korean businesswoman, Jung Jae-young plays an underworld heavyweight, and Choi Sung-eun plays a government agent who clashes with Inose. The trailer also takes in snowy Central Asia and Hong Kong’s Kowloon Walled City.
Han Jun-hee, who made D.P. and Coin Locker Girl, directs and co-wrote it with Cho Yu-jin, adapting the 2002 manhwa Blue Road. Netflix’s Korean slate keeps growing, from the return of All of Us Are Dead to this.
