It opens in US cinemas on 22 January 2027. A UK date has not been confirmed yet.

Father Against Son in the Arms Trade

In the official synopsis, Yuri discovers that a ruthless mercenary mastermind (Skarsgård) is building a private army and is bent on destroying his legacy. That leads to a blood-soaked battle to the death and, in Vertical’s words, a fierce rivalry fuelled by power, ambition and betrayal. The mercenary turns out to be Anton, the illegitimate son Yuri never knew he had.

Niccol wrote and directed both films. Cage is the only main cast member returning from the original, which also starred Jared Leto and Ethan Hawke. Laura Harrier, Sylvia Hoeks and Greg Tarzan Davis join him and Skarsgård.

Philippe Rousselet and Fabrice Gianfermi, who produced the first film, return for Vendôme Pictures alongside Niccol and Cage. It is Cage’s second trailer on Movieversalfilm in recent weeks, after Best Pancakes in the County.
